Toum ou Hammid (Garlic Lemon Sauce or Dressing)

Tangy and classic Lebanese, this is our most essential sauce, dressing, and marinade used with chicken, fish, steamed or sautéed vegetables, potatoes, salata, with tremendous healthful benefits such as liver cleansing.
2-3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice or 1/2 teaspoon citric acid
In a wooden mortar and pestle, mash garlic with salt and citric acid into a smoot paste. Add lemon juice and olive oil. Taste and adjust flavor by adding more garlic, salt, lemon or oil, to sute your taste.
