Rice with Dried Yellow Fava Beans
2 cups Basmati rice
2 onions, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 cup oil
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 ½ cups dried yellow Fava beans, cleaned, washed, soaked in 2 cups water for 2 hours and drained
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon Persian allspice (Advieh)
1/2 cup clarified butter
Clean and wash 2 cups rice in warm water.

In a deep, non-stick pot, brown the onions in oil, add turmeric, beans, six cups of warm water, salt, pepper and cinnamon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer over medium heat for 40 minutes.
