Dates in Butter Sauce
(Al-Rangina) Saudi Arabia
Heat the butter over medium heat until it begins to sizzle; then add the flour and cinnamon. Sauté and stir continually for no more than 3 minutes. The butter sauce should be a soft paste. Pour the sauce over the dates and allow to cool; then sprinkle with confectioner's sugar and serve. Serves 4 to 6. From "From the Lands of Figs and Olives" by Habeeb Salloum and James Peters
